ACUMEN
DEVELOP RANGE OF EXPERTISE WITH APPOINTMENT OF NEW CONSULTANT
Aberdeen-based
accountants and financial advisors, Acumen, have added
to their capabilities through the appointment of consultant,
Alan Ball. Alan brings a wealth of industry expertise
to the firm, gained through experience with a variety
of legal and financial firms throughout Scotland.
An
MA graduate of The University of Aberdeen, Alan then
went on to undertake a LL.B and Diploma in Legal Practice
at Glasgow University. He began his career with Greenock-based
solicitors, Blair and Bryden, where he worked across
a range of legal functions, carrying out private client
work and conveyancing, as well as both criminal and
civil court work. In 1999, Alan moved on to Stirling-based
firm, Jardine Donaldson where he specialised in private
client work, including will trusts, executries and financial
services. In 2000, Alan made a shift towards financial
services and joined the Aberdeen offices of Equitable
Life/HboS as a financial planner, prior to moving to
Acumen in 2002.
Managing
Director of Acumen, Sandy Robertson, commented: "Alan
brings a great deal to the team and I am delighted to
welcome him on board. Acumen is unique in the North-east
of Scotland in that we offer financial planning, tax
planning and accountancy under one roof and Alan fits
in with that remit perfectly. His legal background lends
itself well to the nature of our business, and coupled
with his financial experience makes him ideally suited
to the post."
Alan
commented: "Having worked for a large insurer,
I became disillusioned by the lack of choice offered
to policy holders. I would like to see my long-term
career growing as Acumen grows into the leading financial
planning company in the North-east of Scotland."
