Gordon Scerri Gordon joined Acumen in December 2007 as Assistant Manager within the Audit Department. Gordon comes from Malta were he has worked for a big four firm as well as independent audit firms over the past ten years. During this time he acquired valuable experience in audit, accounts and consultancy for small and medium sized businesses. Elena Barnes Elena's broad international business and financial experience has provided her with a solid foundation for her present role as Tax Manager in Acumen's Edinburgh office. Her particular areas of expertise include advising a substantial medical practitioner client base, including London Harley Street consultants, HNW clients, aspects of international tax, including non-domiciles, expats, foreign nationals coming to work in the UK, cross border transactions, VAT, double taxation for companies and individuals, in addition to property developers, buy-to-let, inheritance tax planning, including trust and estate taxation. One of her strengths is helping to provide practical tax solutions to SME's including owner managed businesses. She has hands-on management expertise in property, manufacturing, contracting and trading companies in the UK and Europe in addition to her considerable international financial advisers roles in Europe and the Arabian Gulf. She has also worked in product development and international marketing with a major hedge fund group. Married with 1 son, Elena lives in Edinburgh .She is a Berlin University graduate in German language and literature. Elena is ATT qualified and is studying for CTA. |

Lynne qualified in 2006 and has since taken on the role of Client Relationship Manager. Lynne is responsible for managing a portfolio of medium to large clients. Lynne lives in Aberdeen and in her spare time enjoys going to the cinema, reading and going to Aberdeen Football Club matches. |

Barrie is married with one son and two step daughters and lives in Dundee. In his spare time he enjoys all sports and in particular golf and football. |

Lyn qualified in Aberdeen in 1990 as a CA and has since gained considerable experience within the SME sector.
